Meet the Artist: Sophy Naess, an NYC-based artist, created this work, “Lilacs,” as a silkscreen on silk fabric in 2016. Inspired after experiencing the lilacs in Northern Sweden, she writes: “Their appearance in spring came at the end of a traumatic period of darkness and announced the return of the pleasure of fragrant flowers.”
